Put graduates first.
The Unemployed Graduate Movement was established in 2018 in Durban to organise and represent graduates who cannot find work. Since then the movement has helped place more than 5,000 graduates into employment and installed 300 containers across South Africa.
Our Mandate
The Unemployed Graduates Movement (UGM) is a national non-profit advocacy movement established to represent the interests of unemployed graduates across South Africa. Our mandate is to advocate for graduate employment, influence public policy, promote entrepreneurship, protect the rights of unemployed graduates, and engage government and the private sector on sustainable solutions.
From the President
"We have placed more than 5,000 graduates across the country — and we are not stopping until every unemployed graduate is counted, supported, and given a real shot at work."
Why We Exist
Register & be counted
Every graduate who joins gets added to a national database employers and partners can draw from.
Verified qualifications
Members upload their qualification documents directly, so placements move faster once opportunities open up.
Collective pressure
We campaign publicly — on the streets and with employers — to put youth employment on the agenda.
Not forgotten.
Support the Movement
UGM runs on membership fees and donations. Every rand goes toward organising, campaigns, and connecting graduates with real opportunities.
